ThermiTight® in Bucks County, PA, and Hunterdon County, NJ

What is ThermiTight®?

ThermiTight® from Buinewicz Plastic Surgery is a minimally invasive procedure that uses radiofrequency (RF) energy to heat the deep tissues of the neck and lower face. Radiofrequency (RF) energy has been used for a decade to tighten skin and deeper tissues of the face and neck, and ThermiTight® from Buinewicz Plastic Surgery is a non-surgical, minimally invasive alternative for skin tightening. It uses radio frequency to stimulate collagen production beneath the skin, which improves sagging and smooths out your skin texture.

Benefits of ThermiTight®

ThermiTight® is formally described as “thermistor-controlled subdermal skin tightening,” which basically means that regulated heat is targeted at the collagen layer of your skin. To get under the skin, the ThermiRF® system is used along with a tiny probe, called the SmartTip thermistor probe, which is inserted just below the surface. Before any of this process happens, the treated area will be injected with a small amount of anesthetic solution. Most procedures at Buinewicz Plastic Surgery last less than an hour, and are followed up with a gentle wrap. As for downtime following your ThermiTight® treatment at Buinewicz Plastic Surgery, you should be able to resume normal activities as early as the next day. A facelift can provide many cosmetic benefits, but it often requires several weeks of recovery time, and in contrast, ThermiTight® demands virtually no rest or downtime. Though very slight bruising or redness may develop following treatment, these side effects are only mild and temporary and resolve quickly. Although the procedure may be repeated, most patients obtain optimal results after only a single treatment. As collagen continues to grow beneath the epidermis, patients can watch their skin become increasingly taut and more youthful in appearance.

Who is a Candidate for ThermiTight®?

Is the skin around your face or neck beginning to sag? Do you want to tighten your skin without plastic surgery? If so, you might be an ideal candidate for ThermiTight® from Buinewicz Plastic Surgery. Though cosmetic surgery procedures, such as a facelift, can help patients achieve smoother and more youthful complexions, ThermiTight® can enhance the appearance of your skin without surgical techniques. This innovative skin tightening procedure relies on radiofrequency to stimulate the production of collagen, the substance that helps skin retain its tautness. ThermiTight® from Buinewicz Plastic Surgery is a procedure that can help individuals of all ages. While the aging process might be more prominent in older individuals, even younger people can experience prematurely sagging skin. Collagen production can both slow with age and suffer damage from environmental agents, but the good news is that ThermiTight® from Buinewicz Plastic Surgery is suitable for all adult men and women. Because this anti-aging procedure uses safe and painless radiofrequencies to trigger collagen production below the epidermis, ThermiTight® can help people with all skin tones enjoy younger and tighter skin. ThermiTight® is ideal for those patients who want a more noticeable improvement than non-invasive devices can deliver, but who are not yet ready for surgery or just don't want surgery.

What is the Procedure for ThermiTight®?

Individuals who undergo ThermiTight® at Buinewicz Plastic Surgery are generally awake during their procedure. Many people find the skin tightening process to be very comfortable, but to ensure the ease of patients, Buinewicz Plastic Surgery may use pain relief aids as well to guarantee your comfort. ThermiTight® can reverse the effects of aging in many regions of the body, including the breasts, neck, and face. Once the targeted region is selected, Dr. Buinewicz will insert the electrode that delivers controlled radiofrequencies to the lower layers of the skin. This type of energy not only stimulates collagen production during the ThermiTight® procedure but also encourages improved results after your treatment is completed.

ThermiTight® FAQs

Yes, the ThermiTight® procedure is completely safe for all skin tones and types – even for patients who have deeper skin tones or naturally textured skin. ThermiTight® also has built-in safety features that allow Dr. Buinewicz and his team to monitor the temperature both on the surface of and underneath the skin throughout each treatment session, reducing the risk of thermal damage.

Yes, the ThermiTight® system may melt away fat in your treated areas. That being said, ThermiTight® should not be considered a fat-loss treatment. If you are interested in melting away fat in your treated areas in addition to tightening the skin, Dr. Buinewicz and his team may recommend receiving non-invasive body contouring procedures in conjunction with your ThermiTight® treatments.

Because ThermiTight® relies on using thermal energy to remodel the skin and stimulate collagen production, it may take up to four weeks to start seeing the results of your treatment sessions. Patients are typically able to see the full results of their ThermiTight® treatments within three months of their final treatment session.

Common areas typically treated with ThermiTight® include the:
